The Master Cleanse Diet
During my research into fasting, I came across the Master Cleanse diet, and I discovered it to be highly regarded in the fasting world. Some of you may remember it as the same ‘diet’ Beyonce used to lose a few pounds for Dreamgirls.
After reading the reactions of others on the internet to the cleanse I found it very encouraging and also informative of what it truly takes to complete. A few of the people who I spoke with about the master cleanser diet who had attempted it did not have the discipline to get by the first two or three days. As most fasts require not eating I have never been able to stick with it for more than a day. Technically, being a juice fast the lemon juice maple syrup diet does offer some sustenance (the lemonade drink used for the cleanse is also why it is called the lemonade diet by some.)
The Master Cleanse follows a simple routine, however it isn’t exactly easy. Though the guidelines are few, the will power necessary to succeed is another thing altogether. Luckily I came across a book that gives you lots of tips and tricks to make the cayenne pepper diet a much smaller challenge.
One thing touted is the weight loss from the diet but that was never my main concern. I did it for the toxin cleansing benefits. I’d been really run down lately and had read too many accounts of how mcuh better one can feel after fasting. That made me decide to give it one more chance.
From what I’ve been reading the typical amount of time spent on the master cleanse diet is ten days, although it is not uncommon for people to stay on the cleanse for longer periods of time. I decided to commit to only 5 days to see how I reacted. Considering I never made it past 2 days before that was quite an accomplishment.
I have to give credit to the secrets book. It was a great resource that kept me going when I hit a sticking point . Just from reading it I had much more confidence in my chance of success. The extra confidence surely led to my success.
Luckily I went to see my doctor for a check-up recently so the timing was good. I strongly urge anyone interested in trying any kind of fast to speak with their doctor first to make sure everything is OK before diving in.
I fell so much better after the 5 day cleanse that I think I am going to go for the full ten days next time. One tip I can give you is to not jump right back into your old diet, especially if you have a bad McDonald’s habit. You will get excellent guidance on how best to handle that.)
